The business pioneer in the development of silicon-based materials for the next generation of lithium-ion batteries.
The opportunity?
They own the silicon-based technology, but not the mechanical hardware and want to bring it in house.
You will be the first experienced Thermo/Mechanical Engineer to join the company and will have the opportunity to put your stamp on things and select software tools you want to implement.
Responsibilities:
Reporting into VP of Cell you will be responsible for materials specification and down-selection, including thermomechanical modelling for heat and electric flows. You will also get the opportunity to select inhouse CFD/FEA software of your choice.
What you will bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field and at least 5 years related professional experience working on battery cells, but other industries considered
- Strong fundamental understanding of thermomechanical behaviour, modelling/simulation for heat and electric flows
- Experience performing Finite element analysis and/or CFD
