Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Director of Manufacturing at NEX located in Penn Yan, NY. This is a high-paced manufacturing plant producing highly regulated products for many highly visible brands that are sold into 150+ dispensaries throughout New York State. This is a new role at NEX due to the rapid growth of the business and industry.


The Director of Manufacturing will oversee production planning, manufacturing operations, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance, and supply chain management. The role involves ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.


Responsibilities

  • Personnel Management: Manage the workflow and productivity of all production related personnel.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed reporting to leadership team of KPI's, production reports, inventory, and compliance.
  • Structural Building: This role will require the ability to not only execute on the company's goals, but also add to the foundation of the business. This could mean you are building new reports, or re-organizing the warehouse.
  • Maturity: As a leader in an emerging market, you will need to act and dress professionally, be punctual, detail oriented, and nimble.
  • Reliability: Ensure timely and secure delivery of time-sensitive packages to local retailers and facilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Address delivery issues promptly and efficiently, utilizing strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear and timely communication with order support teams, ensuring smooth delivery operations.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, including addressing inquiries and gathering feedback.
  • Brand Representation: Act as a brand ambassador, promoting NEX and its products.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including NY Department of Cannabis Control regulations.
  • Security Protocols: Prioritize security by following strict company security protocols.


Qualifications

  • Production Planning and Manufacturing Operations Management skills
  • Lean Six Sigma process improvement understanding
  • Experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance
  • Expertise in Supply Chain Management
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
  • Previous experience in cannabis or related industries is a plus
