USGBC’s Technology team is seeking a Vice President of IT Enterprise Architecture. This leader will design, mentor, and manage the organization's enterprise IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will attract top-tier talent, deliver innovative, customer-centric solutions, and oversee the architecture team. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this position is responsible for day-to-day IT architecture projects and engineering, while driving continuous process improvements and operational efficiencies. The role also involves cross-departmental collaboration on key initiatives and platforms.

This position offers the flexibility to be remote, based within the United States.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Working with the CIO, develop and maintain the enterprise IT architecture vision and strategy, aligning it with business goals
  2. Ensure successful execution of business plans to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability, and market share
  3. Develop short- and long-term IT portfolio and plans to meet organizational needs
  4. Communicate IT vision, strategy, metrics, annual goals, and success factors to the CIO and other stakeholders
  5. Build and lead a successful team by recruiting and retaining top IT talent through systematic and unbiased approaches
  6. Define SMART delivery goals in alignment with functional leads
  7. Partner with peers and regional leads to establish strategy and operations plans
  8. Share best practices and optimize team performance and productivity
  9. Manage IT Architecture, Standards, Processes, and Tools by overseeing day to day operations of IT architecture teams to ensure high quality and user satisfaction
  10. Plan, design, communicate, and manage IT projects, including tracking and leading system upgrades and replacements
  11. Standardize tools and processes for agile development, estimation, and deployment
  12. Monitor projects for adherence to defined IT architecture processes
  13. Develop and regularly test Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
  14. Implement and administer critical security controls
  15. Manage detailed budgets for capital and operational expenses related to IT architecture efforts
  16. Ensure regulatory and audit compliance throughout the IT architecture life cycle
  17. Drive for results by setting high performance standards for self and others
  18. Develop and sustain customer relationships based on understanding customer/stakeholder needs
  19. Support employees and business partners with diverse styles, abilities, motivations, and cultural perspectives
  20. Develop collaborative relationships with other technical teams, employees, and business partners

Education & Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, related field, or equivalent work experience
  2. At least 15+ years of experience in IT architecture
  3. At least 15+ years of experience with enterprise architecture, software architecture, or CRM/ERP development, and Agile practices
  4. At least 7 years of experience as a team lead
  5. Proven leadership of a large IT or architecture team
  6. Expert in cloud solutions and applications architecture, especially with AWS/Azure
  7. Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Kanban, Agile and Scrum

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Proven ability to collaborate with upper management and other IT and business teams
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information to nontechnical audiences
  3. Strong problem solving and time management skills; high attention to detail

Details:

  1. Employment Type: Full Time, permanent, salaried, benefits-eligible, exempt status
  2. Location: Washington D.C. (HQ) or remote within the United States
  3. Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm EST, 40 hours per week, including occasional evenings
