Environment, Health and Safety Manager

The EHS manager is responsible for managing a comprehensive sustainability program that aligns with overarching goals and engages staff at all levels. This multifaceted role helps position Interroll as a leader in environmental sustainability with the goal of upholding national environmental standards and best practices.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the supervisor. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.
EHS&S Strategy and Program:
- Implement and manage a regional EHS&S strategy aligned with global objectives and business goals
- Manage regional EHS&S programs, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Ensure alignment and consistency with global EHS&S standards and initiatives
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant local laws and regulations
EHS&S Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to regional EHS&S team
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team
- Set clear goals, monitor performance, and provide feedback and development opportunities
- Identify together with the Managing Director the right internal resources to cover the local roles for EHS&S
ISO Certification:
- Lead efforts to obtain and maintain ISO certification for EHS&S management systems (ISO 14001/Health & Safety, ISO 5001/Energy)
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and requirements, coordinating audits and addressing non-compliance
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Units, Interroll Production System and global Product & Technology Organization to crate an integrated Management System with ISO 9001
Carbon Accounting and Carbon Footprint Calculation:
- Lead the calculation and reporting of the organization's carbon footprint, considering Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions, following recognized methodologies such as the GHG Protocol and sector-specific guidance.
- Collect, monitor, and analyze carbon-related data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Identify opportunities for carbon emissions reduction and develop strategies to achieve ambitious targets, including Science-Based Targets (SBTs) if applicable.
Data Collection and Analysis:
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of ESG data from various local entities, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with regional and local teams to identify and address data gaps, ensuring comprehensive ESG reporting at all levels.
ESG Reporting and Disclosure:
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate ESG reports and disclosures for the management team in your region to further improve ESG performance
- Ensure compliance with relevant reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and disclosure requirements in your region and local entities.
- Provide guidance and support in your region for the local entities to report their ESG disclosures in CCH Tagetik
- Act as Single Point of Contact and Power User for CCH Tagetik in your region
- Collect and report standardized Key Performance Indicators for the local entities
Sustainable Procurement:
- Perform Risk Assessments of the supply base in your region regarding environmental, human rights and compliance risks
- Support strategic purchasing in the supplier selection process with assessing and auditing suppliers in regards to their EHS&S performance.
- Monitor compliance to the Interroll Supplier Code of Conduct
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with internal teams to engage stakeholders and address their ESG-related queries at regional and local levels.
- Act as main communication channel to regulators, authorities, customers & suppliers for all ESG related matters in your region.
- Strongly align all communication matters with the Head of Communication & Investor Relation and the Director Corporate Sustainability & Compliance
Best Practices and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of emerging ESG reporting trends, standards, and methodologies,
- Benchmark against industry peers and competitors in your region to identify areas for improvement and maintain our position as a leader in ESG reporting globally.
Travel Requirement: up to 20-30% at times in beginning and then as needed.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience working as an EHS Manager or in a similar role with focus on environment
In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
Experience in developing and implementing EHS management systems, policies, and procedures, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
Strong understanding of risk management principles and incident investigation techniques.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrated ability to drive a strong safety culture and engage employees in EHS initiatives.
Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills.
Professional certifications in EHS are highly desirable.• Passion for sustainability and a genuine commitment to driving positive environmental and social change. Strong knowledge in ESG and Sustainability Reporting are a benefit.
