We seek a Senior Database Analyst to join our major client, a growing FinTech company based in Dallas. This is a full-time, onsite role, with benefits, vacation, and 401k contributions.

The DBA, known internally as a BI Data Engineer, will help in the design, development, implementation, and deployment of a BI software solution. The BI Data Engineer position requires strong business and technical skills.


Responsibilities include data modeling, batch processing, data matching, data search, and duplicate record checking. It also includes integrating data quality tools in a Microsoft environment. Excellent communication skills and working as part of an integrated team are critical.


General tasks and responsibilities as requested by the client:

  • Work closely with different teams and business partners in the organization, build and foster strong relationships
  • Develop new data pipelines and work with data analysts, data scientists, engineers and product managers to add new data sources or new views in our data
  • Implement and maintain data models using analytics tools in order to allow our business users access the data directly and drive decisions
  • Design and implement metrics, dashboards and reports
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy and reliability
  • Empower and train our data users to use data more efficiently, by extending our self serve data services and documentation
  • Provide ETL design, development, implementation and support of Business Intelligence & Business Analytics
  • Prepare documentation as part of the knowledge transfer process
  • Implement PowerBI dashboards to allow end users to self service data requests

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Be onsite, in Uptown Dallas, Monday- Friday, 8am-5pm. Relocation assistance is not available for this role, hiring preference will be given to local candidates.
  • A BS degree in information systems, computer science, or software engineering related field.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a business intelligence role, including data warehousing and analytics tools, techniques and technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 08/12/14, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PPS; including experience with customer systems that have over 15 million record updates daily.
  • Experience with data requirements gathering and analysis.
  • Experience with integrating data quality tools
  • Experience in Data Warehousing solutions (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Azure SQL)
  • Expert knowledge with SQL & OLAP
  • Knowledge and direct experience in data visualization concepts using business intelligence reporting tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Jupyter notebooks)
  • Pass a mandatory drug screen, background check as requested by the client.
