Job Summary:
Hargett Hunter is a unique private equity investment firm that invests in emerging restaurant concepts, deploying capital and expertise to support growth and generate strong returns. We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst / Senior Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in strategic financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and reporting. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, with the ability to extract and analyze data from various systems and ensure data accuracy. The FP&A Analyst / Senior Analyst will play a key role in shaping financial strategies, tracking KPIs, and driving business performance at portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling & Analysis: Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making, scenario planning, and long-term forecasting. Includes support on development and maintenance of the businesses long range financial model as well as 13 week cash flow model.
- Budget Creation: Assist with creation, management, and review of company-wide budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Variance Analysis: Perform in-depth variance analysis to compare actuals against forecasts/budgets, identify trends, and highlight risks or opportunities for improvement.
- Periodic Reporting: Interpret, analyze, and present financial reports, providing insights to senior leadership on financial performance and business trends.
- KPI Creation & Tracking: Assist with development of, and lead tracking and report on, key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and optimize company performance.
- Data Extraction & Accuracy: Pull data from various systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, financial software) using APIs, SQL queries, or CSV files, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data sets.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Support on strategic projects including mix analysis, capital allocation, real estate analysis and vendor / partnership analysis.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, operations, and senior management, to support financial planning initiatives.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes and systems, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a similar analytical role.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency working in database tools and Excel for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience working with financial systems.
- Ability to ensure the accuracy and completeness of data from various sources.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with Private Equity backed companies.
- Experience working with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of database management systems
- Prior experience with restaurant or multi-unit operations
