An esteemed oil and gas engineering firm is seeking an experienced Offshore Drilling Project Manager for a year-long contract role based in Houston, Texas. This position is integral to the successful execution of a high-profile offshore drilling project, providing an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team in the heart of the energy sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the OWNER and the PRIME CONTRACTOR, facilitating clear communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive project schedules, budgets, and performance deliverables, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Organize and lead weekly progress meetings with stakeholders, presenting updates on key project metrics, risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Utilize your expertise in managing marine drilling campaigns to coordinate the activities of associated subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor project progress and performance data to identify potential challenges and implement proactive solutions, ensuring project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operational, and safety teams to optimize drilling processes and technologies, driving continuous improvement in project execution.
  • Ensure all project documentation is meticulous and up-to-date, including contracts, change orders, and reporting requirements, to support transparency and accountability.


Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of extensive experience in project management within the oil and gas industry, specifically with a focus on offshore drilling operations.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale marine drilling projects, demonstrating proficiency in navigating complex logistical and operational challenges.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, along with a keen eye for detail in tracking project milestones and deliverables.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, with the capacity to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP) are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel offshore as required to support project operations and stakeholder engagement.
