As aPrincipal ArchitectatJPMorgan Chasewithin theConsumer and Community Banking-Core Platform Engineering, you are the driving force to develop high-quality architecture solutions/patterns for various core platform areas, ranging from Infra as a code for hybrid cloud and on-prem infra provisioning, canary and blue/green deployment, to event driven micro service architectures. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.

Job Responsibilities

  • Advises cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies.
  • Develops multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities.
  • Creates complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design.
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
  • Serves as the function’s go-to subject matter expert.
  • Contributes to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies.
  • Creates durable, reusable software frameworks that improve velocity and quality of output across teams and functions.
  • Champions the firm’s culture of equity and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Expertise in one or more programming languages.
  • Deep knowledge in one or more software applications and architecture.
  • Advanced knowledge of software architecture, application development, and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
  • Experience applying expertise and new methods to determine solutions for complex architecture problems in one or more technical disciplines.
  • Experience leading a product as a product owner or product manager.
  • Ability to present and effectively communicate to senior leaders and executives.
  • Understanding of the business.
  • Practical cloud experience.

Additional qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Prior experience on Infra and Platform as a Service, canary and blue/green deployment, progressive rollout.
  • Prior experience on Terraform, Pulumi, Helm charts, Kubernetes.
