Float Pool RN

We are seeking a skilled Float Pool RN to work night shifts in our hospital. As a Float Pool RN, you will provide direct nursing care to patients in various units within our hospital, including the PCU, ICU, and ED. You will be a role model to promote a positive work environment and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures. This is a casual pool position with a minimum work requirement of ten shifts per schedule. Patient care assignment may include all age groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe direct care to a assigned group of patients as required
  • Comply with Hospitals, Nursing division and departmental policies
  • Work in collaboration with the healthcare team to implement and document individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching
  • Assist with special tests and procedures and ensure proper consent has been obtained
  • Participate in orientation and preceptor training of new personnel
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden, adverse developments in patients
  • Ensure that patient medical records contain necessary information
  • Administer medication, including IV medication, via the Seven Rights and document and communicate clinical findings
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings, and workshops
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
  • Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors, and/or near misses in a timely manner
  • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care

Qualifications:

  • Program Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program
  • 1 year of directly related experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
  • RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification

Physical conditions:

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Working conditions:

  • Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE
