The Logistics Dispatcher will be responsible for scheduling, dispatching, and tracking a fleet of drivers and vehicles, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. This role is crucial in maintaining high customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of organization, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and schedule driver assignments, ensuring timely pick-up and delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure schedules are met, updating clients and internal teams as needed.
  • Communicate with drivers regarding route changes, weather conditions, and delivery updates.
  • Optimize route planning to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver logs, shipment details, and inventory.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, customer service, and other logistics staff to ensure seamless operations.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, transportation, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and GPS tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, effective decisions.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and local, state, and federal transportation laws.
