Join Shumaker, where the excitement of legal excellence intersects with an enjoyable and vibrant workplace As an attorney in our Litigation & Disputes Service Line, you will engage in sophisticated and challenging litigation and financial services work for clients in Florida and nationwide. The associate will have 0-2 years of experience representing large financial institutions and high net-worth individuals in securities litigation, regulatory investigations, and violations of contractual covenants in Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitration and in state and federal courts.

This position will work in-person at our Sarasota, Florida office.
Job Requirements:
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active Florida bar license, or ability to take July 2025 Florida bar exam
- 0-2 years of professional law experience (including May 2025 law graduates)
- Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals
- Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases
- Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time
- Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day
- Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
