Job DescriptionJob Description

We are growing The Playing Field is hiring Assistant Teachers at our East Side and Midtown locations.

Qualified candidates will have completed at least one course in Early Childhood Education and may be eligible to apply for an "earn as you learn" apprenticeship position. The Assistant Teacher position may be assigned to a classroom or move between classrooms and age groups based on the needs of the center.

We offer a supportive workplace with extensive training and coaching and low child to teacher ratios. In addition to competitive salaries, we offer a $500 sign on bonus after completion of the probationary period as well as annual retention bonuses of $1000 or more. Health, dental, vision, long and short-term disability insurance, as well as a retirement plan with a company match are offered to staff working 30 hours or more per week. Full time staff also receive 20 days of paid time off annually plus 8 paid holidays.

Our unique model provides a great opportunity for professionals who want to make a difference by supporting vulnerable children and families. The Playing Field provides our employees the opportunity to grow and learn new skills through extensive training in Conscious Discipline, a mentorship program, and access to higher learning, credit-based coursework through the TEACH Scholarship.

The Playing Field is an accredited child care program and works closely with the city of Madison Child Care Accreditation program and YoungStar to maintain the highest quality environments and care for children.
