SUMMARY OF ROLE:

We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician who will appropriately perform and coordinate routine and non-routine facilities and ground maintenance activities to ensure a safe, comfortable work environment and customer satisfaction. This position will need to develop and maintain an open and responsive mindset to be flexible and adaptable with normal daily routines to handle unforeseen emergencies and non-emergency items.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor, order, and properly store all supplies and materials required to perform or oversee the execution of regularly scheduled preventative maintenance needs according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Monitor and order proper storage of all kitchens, restroom, and copier area supplies to ensure availability at all times.
  • Perform daily visual routine inspections by verifying cleanliness, adequate heating/cooling, ensuring there are no tripping hazards, and that all electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems are operating properly.
  • Perform daily visual routine inspections for all exterior areas to confirm each structure is without apparent maintenance needs.
  • Perform troubleshooting techniques to establish whether repair, replacement, or adjustments are needed to restore functionality and safe conditions.
  • Review and respond to emails promptly by providing accurate answers and effective solutions to meet or beat your internal customers' expectations.
  • Maintain a reliable working relationship with all FM staff and perform assigned projects effectively and efficiently while adhering to all OSHA, County, EPA, and NOVEC policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • A High School diploma or the recognized equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the areas of HVAC, plumbing, and/or building maintenance is recommended.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to perform manufacturer's recommendations either alone or in a team environment.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, mule, or pallet jack.
  • Ability and skill to operate various hand trucks/dollies.
  • Ability to make minor repairs, replacements, and/or adjustments on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to accept direction and guidance from Senior Maintenance Technicians to build upon the current level of skills, talents, job knowledge, and experience.
  • Ability to expedite accurate documentation in accordance with NOVEC's policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of building layouts.
  • Perform all position responsibilities in accordance with NOVEC policies and procedures and OSHA/EPA safety standards.
