POSITION OVERVIEW

Regional Sales Director position reporting to the National Sales Director; responsible for meeting and/ or exceeding sales objectives for assigned sales division; plans, implements, executes, and evaluates strategies for continued growth of dollar sales and profit. Manages activity and performance of Business Development Managers through coaching, training and leadership activities; establishes and improves relationships with customers to strengthen organizational awareness and loyalty of products and company; demonstrates high level of integrity and accountability through leadership activities with Business Development Managers, customers and internal departments.

LOCATION

The RSD is remote based within the region. This position will require travel nationwide as needed; travel is estimated at 65%.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, implements and executes plans to achieve sales team goals within the approved national sales team plan.
  • Establishes sales objectives, territory alignment and resource allocations as appropriate.
  • Directs all phases of sales management including but not limited to recruiting, training, motivating, supervision, market coverage, performance evaluation, compensation, establishing budgets, reviewing promotional programs and activity reports.
  • Supervises all aspects of field sales activities through Business Development Managers, including contact with physicians, office staff, and customers, conducting sales meetings, field testing and evaluating marketing programs, editing and reviewing training programs and analyzing sales by product, by account and total sales.
  • Provides regular reporting of sales results, sales trends, individual performance and forecast projections to appropriate levels of management.
  • Works with Marketing, Commercial Operations and other in-house departments to develop sales programs and promotions for company products.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitor activities and products, provide regular progress updates to various groups in the home office, and respond to requests for information regarding regional business. Also monitor and control expenditures of region to meet budgetary requirements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Regional Sales Director directly supervises 8 to 12 Business Development Managers, and supports the sales activities of Business Development Managers as well as managing customer relationships. RSD will carry out supervisory and customer responsibilities in accordance with company policies and all applicable laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in, Skincare, Medical, Pharmaceutical or B to B sales, with preferred two (2) years managing direct reports
  • Successful track record in at least one of the following areas highly preferred: Marketing, Trade, Sales Training, and/or National Accounts
  • Ability to travel overnight as needed. Overnight travel estimated at 65%
  • Budget management experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate high level of integrity and accountability via strong leadership track record
  • Must be proficient with MS Office, Windows, and familiar with sales tracking and reporting software.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
