Job Description

Norco is currently seeking an individual to fill our Pharmacy Technician position. The Pharmacy Technician assists in dispensing prescription medications, providing healthcare products, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy under the supervision of the pharmacist. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare prescription orders by counting, pouring, measuring, and weighing medications according to prescription orders under the supervision of the pharmacist
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for drugs. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Ensure proper labeling and packaging of medications
  • Process prescription orders through insurance systems. Verify insurance coverage and communicate with insurance providers to resolve any issues or discrepancies
  • Answer billing and general customer questions
  • Perform various administrative duties such as data entry, filing, answering phones, and managing payments.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and prescription files.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, including HIPAA, FDA, and BOP guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area
  • Initiate and complete new intakes and assist in setting up new accounts where applicable
  • Route patient information to appropriate personnel/departments as necessary to order, deliver and bill medical products and services
  • Follow Safe work practice
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
  • Work well with team
Qualifications

  • Two (2) years experience in pharmacy or medical field preferred
  • Valid Idaho Pharmacy Technician License (on-the-job training)
  • PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
  • Complete understanding of medical software used by Norco (on-the-job training)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Accurately enter data into computer
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively
  • Attention to detail is critical to effectively and accurately process information from multiple sources
