We are looking for a competitive insurance agent candidate for the Farmers Insurance Protg Program. Our protg agents work for qualified mentor agents around Michigan to learn and sell our product portfolio, ways to market and run an insurance agency from top to bottom. Our Protg program is essentially a paid internship program (base+ commission) to help prepare you for starting OR taking over an existing book of business.
We are seeking a passionate, self-driven, natural born salesperson with a desire to make a difference in peoples lives. Candidates understand that it takes time to build a business, to develop the proper skills and understanding to excel in this field. We provide our Proteges with ongoing training and support on their path to success so they can best serve the Farmers customers
Candidates will generate new business by contacting potential customers. You will sell, solicit, differentiate and negotiate insurance plans that match the needs of your assigned or prospective customers portfolio. The goal is to build up strong positive relationships, to ensure growth attainment and increase the agency's reputation while gaining the knowledge and experience to launch your own agency.

Responsibilities
- Develop marketing strategies and promote all types of new insurance contracts or suggest additions/changes to existing ones
- Breed productive relationships to create a pool of prospective clients from various sources by networking, cold calling, using referrals etc
- Evaluate business or individual customers needs and financial status and propose protection plans that meet their criteria
- Work with clients to deliver risk management strategies that fit their risk profiles
- Report the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to stakeholders
- Maintain bookkeeping systems, database and records
- Monitor insurance claims to ensure mutual satisfaction
- Achieve customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives
- Constantly update job knowledge and learn about new products and services
- Fulfill all policy requirements
- Be able to obtain or currently possess a Michigan Property & Casualty insurance license.
- Be able to obtain or currently possess a Michigan Life and Health Insurance license
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Sales or client-facing background preferred.
- Insurance experience beneficial but not required.
- Must exhibit trustworthiness, reliability, and ethics.
- Coachable mindset essential.
- Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills needed.
- Strong interpersonal communication crucial.
- Motivation and determination are vital.
