Job DescriptionJob Description

SUMMARY: This position involves entry level to semi-skilled equipment operation work in golf course maintenance. Responsible for mowing greens and tees; maintain bunkers; change cups on greens and set tee markers in accordance with golf standards. Pick up debris, leaves, and broken tree limbs. Perform related work as required. Will learn and be responsible for skills necessary to maintain and improve a private upscale golf course. This position is under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, or other management.

Salary is based on experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Assists in the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and wetlands on the facility grounds.
  • Operates smaller equipment as directed by his/her supervisor.
  • Sets tee markers, cups, and rakes bunkers in accordance with golf course play standards.
  • Prepares, maintains and repairs tees, greens, roughs, fairways, bunkers and lakes.
  • Returns equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility clean and greased.
  • Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
  • Safely operates all equipment.
  • Reports any equipment malfunctions to the Equipment Manager.

Education and/or Experience

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Prior golf and country club experience preferred.
  • Requires a valid Texas driver's license.

Language: Ability to read, write and comprehend training.

Reasoning: Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of scenarios.

Other:

  • Exhibits professionalism and expressed interest of improvement through enhanced developmental skills.
  • Exhibits leadership through own self-actions.
  • Requires the individual to maintain flexible availability, will work weekends, and holidays. May be required to return to job site at odd hours under emergency situations.
  • Maintain a pleasant and outgoing personality.
  • Must be in compliance with and actively support a drug free workplace.
  • Must actively ensure property is clean and free of trash and debris.
