Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Primary Project Manager on complex projects.

2. Functions as the Professional of Record and/or Primary Project Manager.

3. Ability to effectively lead project meetings with the design team, project team, and consultants.

4. Negotiates contracts with Owners and Consultants. Compile, review, and negotiate scope, schedule and budget for all client initiated changes as contract amendments for additional services.

5. Responsible for obtaining repeat business from existing clients.

6. Manage scope and official project communications regarding all client deliverables.

7. Primary client contact. Represent the firm in a professional manner maintaining client confidence and respect for the services SMRT provides.

8. Assumes responsibility for meeting construction budget and schedule requirements.

9. Oversees the production of construction drawings and specifications.

10. Responsible for maintaining effective project coordination between Client, Job Captain, Department Heads, Designers, Engineers and outside sub-consultants.

11. Ensures documents produced meet Quality Control standards. May conduct QC reviews of contract documents.

12. Keeps current with continuing education credits as required for the maintenance of a professional license.

13. Participate in project interviews or presentations

14. Seeks new work opportunities through marketing, writing proposals, or giving presentations. Identifies marketing leads.

15. Mentors Architectural staff.

16. May conduct technical and peer reviews of complex projects.


Requirements:

  1. 5-year B-Arch, or BA/BS with M-Arch highly desired.
  2. Professional registered architect with 10+ years of relevant design experience
  3. NCARB certification highly desired.
