Are you a people-person with medical office experience, customer service experience, case management, or a background in mental health? Brook Lane Health Services is seeking a part time
Admissions Coordinator to help serve community mental health needs by coordinating admissions to our Inpatient, Partial Hospital, and Outpatient levels of care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Authorizations – 45% of the role now but with EPIC Implementation will reduce to about 30% of the time with new EPI EMR
- Uses the Maryland Medicaid (MDH) Indeco website to complete pre- authorizations for Outpatient Services
- Average number of authorizations per day is 25. They take between 5 – 10 min.
- Single Point of Entry - Perform benefit/eligibility check for all OP new patients.
- Average number of SPOE corrections per day is 8-10
Admission Calls - remaining part of the role
- Fields calls from patients, prospective patients and community providers
- Schedules patient appointments and admission into Brook Lane programs
- Communicate information between the referral sources and the Inpatient staff to facilitate the Inpatient admission process
- Distinguish between crisis, urgent and routine calls while communicating clearly and therapeutically
- Insures preauthorization of services when appropriate
- Exemplify customer service, maintain positive working relationships, demonstrate appropriate adaptability and perform other duties as assigned
- Completes documentation as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS degree or equivalent required.
- Must be able to establish priorities, deal with considerable work detail, maintain a well-mannered even disposition
- Ability to relate well to a variety of people and situations
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, communicate clearly and respond to frequent interruptions
- Ability to use discretion and tact in handling the public, both in person and over the telephone
- Intermediate technology skills required.
- Clerical and organization skills required
