Position Description:


Tactical Internet System Administrator / System Technician provides service and support for 21st (Airborne) Infantry Division Network Operations Center (DNOC) at Ft. Johnson, LA

Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain Mission Command (MC) Tactical Server Infrastructure (TSI) in support of JRTC rotational training.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain the TSI Virtual Machines (VM); VMware ESXi infrastructure; various other servers but not limited to Microsoft Enterprise Services, Linux RedHat, Apache; various Commercial of the Shelf (COTS) equipment and software in support of JRTC rotational mission requirements.
  • Conduct upper Tactical Internet (TI) analysis and troubleshooting when required in support of JRTC rotational mission requirements.
  • Provide recommendations to Division and Brigade level Server Technicians when required in troubleshooting and system configurations.
  • Coordinate and provide domain trust and server federation with Division and Brigade level units prior to rotational training.
  • Conduct weekly and monthly Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and Nessus scans; conduct quarterly Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) updates IAW Dept. of Defense (DoD) Information Systems Standards and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) policies.
  • Conduct monthly Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) to TSI equipment and report deficiencies appropriately.


Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Must possess a basic understanding of structured cabling installation to include termination, labeling, and testing of coax, fiber and twisted pair cabling.
  • Installs equipment used in LAN/CAN/WAN networks, including devices used for voice, video, and data telecommunications such as but not limited to network switches and terminal servers.
  • Experience with or basic understanding of test equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure within specified deadlines. Comfortable working with other trades and peers. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced technicians.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.


Minimum: Qualifications:

  • Security clearance or must be able to obtain a security clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mission Command and Tactical Server Infrastructure experience; Microsoft Credentials; Linux; CompTIA Server+ and A+ certification is a plus
