Job Duties
The Diesel Technician is a skilled position that is responsible for repairing and maintaining our customers Medium & Heavy-Duty Trucks. This includes diagnosing issues, preventative maintenance, repairs, disassembly and re-assembly, and writing detailed work notes.
- Diagnoses cause of malfunctions and performs repairs.
- Performs work outlined on repair order efficiently and accurately.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Communicates with Service Advisor on repair updates and/or delays.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Understands, keeps abreast and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.
Skills and Qualifications
- Heavy-duty truck repair experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Personal tools. Basic Hand Tools
- ASE Certification a plus
- Experience with Mack, Volvo, Isuzu, Cummins heavy-duty trucks and engines.
- Basic computer skills
- Valid CDL a plus
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Use of torque wrenches, air powered tools and hand tools.
- Use of arms in a raised position above shoulder level for prolonged periods of time.
- Frequently required to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
- Entry and exit safely in and out of truck cab.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally life and/or move more than 100 pounds.
Compensation: $22.00 - $35.00/hour + incentive
