RowCal Construction and Maintenance (RCM) is the internal Construction & Maintenance division for RowCal and is available to clients for all their maintenance needs. The Compliance & Safety Manager will develop, implement, and manage the Insurance Compliance & Safety program for all RCM locations. Additionally, this position will be responsible for maintaining subcontractor compliance within RCM requirements. This role involves leading safety initiatives, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety training programs. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees and stakeholders.

Responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry best practices and legal requirements.
  • Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting.
  • Collaborate with department heads and managers to ensure safety standards are integrated into all operations and projects.
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and updates, ensuring the company remains compliant with all insurance-related laws and standards.
  • Partner with RCM's current insurance provider to pave the path for newly acquired companies.
  • Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues.
  • Track and maintain branch office insurance requirements are in accordance with plan from leadership.
  • Lead and coordinate safety training programs for employees, including emergency response training, first aid, and hazard recognition.
  • Partner with RCM HR department to create and maintain safety training in LMS program.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to subcontractor compliance, including contracts, agreements, and lien waivers.
  • Document and maintain licensing compliance as required by State, County, and City jurisdictions.
  • Some travel will be required on an as needed basis. (less than 20%)
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years working with Contracts and contract terminology.
  • Experience working in the construction industry is required.
  • Experience working with insurance documents and requirements is preferred.
  • Experience working with compliance management software.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Attention to detail, precision, and thoroughness in reviewing and interpreting regulatory documents.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and prioritize effectively.
  • Flexible and skilled at working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled at functioning independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
