About This Hospice Aide Position

HopeHealth Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking an experienced CNA to join its dynamic and caring hospice team. This position will provide care to hospice residents in LTC and ALF facilities in the northern half of Rhode Island.

The duties of a hospice aide are planned and assigned by a registered nurse to meet patient and family needs. The hospice aide provides personal care and light housekeeping duties in accordance with the established plan of care.

This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position with 8:00-4:30pm hours. There is a rotating weekend commitment every 3rd-4th weekend. It is fully benefit eligible.

This position is eligible for a bonus of up to $2,500.


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Provides personal care
  • Observes, reports, and documents patient status and the care provided
  • Provides support to patient, family and caregivers through on-going communication
  • Follows basic infection control procedures
  • Recognizes and reports changes in patient's status to RN Case Manager
  • Recognizes emergencies and has the knowledge of emergency procedures and their application
  • Maintains patient and family confidentiality


Education / Experience:

  • Certified Nurse Aide certification
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience required.
