Join Our Team
CDC has a full-time opportunity for a Scheduling Coordinator (Call Center) - Bilingual at our Business Office. This position serves a critical role in the clinic. It is part of a team of people who answer phone calls, schedule appointments, communicate with patients regarding scheduling options, and use our software (electronic health record) to schedule patients. Bilingual proficiency in Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen, or Karenni preferred.

No prior dental experience required - just a great attitude and an ability and willingness to learn a new industry

Scheduling Coordinator Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive calls from patients and assist them in scheduling appointments using our software.
  • Register new patients
  • Explain ER protocol/procedures to patients
  • Arrange for language interpreters as needed
  • Maximize time efficiency in scheduling by utilizing procedure codes for doctor time
  • Check that lab cases have been received the day before treatment, and call in lab cases if needed
  • Check account balances of patients coming in and prepare to discuss any monies due
  • Copy and scan documents and X-rays into patients’ charts
  • Request chart/patient transfers
  • Record patient issues/conversations in communication log or chart

Hours:

  • Monday through Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm

Scheduling Coordinator Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of customer service experience, preferably within an office setting
  • Bilingual proficiency in Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen, or Karenni preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and skilled at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Experienced within MS Office or other computer software
