Summary of Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Children and Youth Manager, this position assists in the oversight, management and supervision of case management services provided by the Children and Youth Unit. Responsibilities will include maintaining compliance with laws, regulations, and DHS policies, proper maintenance of records, and internal quality assurance. Duties are provided in accordance with all existing policies, procedures, and regulations and in accord with the mission and values of the company. This position has been designated to be a part of the County's CYS workforce for purposes exclusive to the proper handling of consumer information as is required by SAM privacy policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in providing administrative supervision

  • Meets with staff members; Trains new employees

  • Provides supervision to on-call case management

  • Provides on-call coverage when needed

  • Provides assistance in staff development, public relations, and community contacts

  • Assists with writing plans

  • Covers dispositions

  • Facilitates meetings

  • Acts as a Liaison with the court

  • Attends court hearings

  • Fulfills public speaking needs

  • Participates in trainings

  • Reviews/authorizes entries in CAPS program

  • Facilitates caseload coverage.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology; social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; OR 2 years' experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and 2 years' of college level course work, which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.

Employment Requirements:

Automobile and Valid Insurance, Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License, acceptable Motor Vehicle Record Check, Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance, Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), Drug Screening Clearance

Working Conditions:

Predominately in-office work within an open environment. Travel throughout the assigned region may occur and may be in adverse weather conditions. Must be able to lift to 15 pounds.
