Communications Director

The Communications Director will provide oversight and leadership to the Communications and Creative Staff at Compassion Network. The Communications Director is to lead and provide strategic development and execution of network-wide and department-specific marketing and creative efforts through story, digital, social, print, email, and more. This position is detail-oriented, self-motivated, organized, and passionate about reaching the lost creatively and seeks to expand the reach of Compassion Network.

Responsibilities:

1. Creative Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive creative strategy that aligns with the vision and goals of the network. Collaborate with ministry leaders to identify key messaging and translate them into creative campaigns and initiatives.

2. Branding and Visual Identity: Maintain and enhance the network's visual identity and brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all communication channels, including print materials, website, social media, and multimedia presentations.

3. Creative Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of designers, writers, videographers, photographers, and other creative professionals. Provide guidance and support to ensure high-quality output and professional development of team members.

4. Content Creation: Oversee the creation of engaging and impactful content, including graphic design, videos, photography, written materials, and social media assets. Ensure that all content reflects the church's mission and values while resonating with the target audience.

5. Communication and Collaboration: Collaborate with ministry leaders and staff to gather information, understand their needs, and provide creative solutions. Serve as a liaison between different teams to ensure effective communication and alignment of creative efforts.

6. Production and Project Management: Coordinate and manage the production process for various creative projects, including timelines, budgets, resources, and vendor relationships. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

7. Event Planning and Execution: Contribute creative ideas and oversee the visual and multimedia elements of network events, including the Pastor's bi-annual planning meetings, regional leadership, and other special events.

8. Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest creative trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry. Bring new ideas and innovative approaches to enhance the network's creative endeavors.


Qualifications:

- A deep personal faith and a commitment to the mission and values of the network.

- Proven experience in a creative leadership role, preferably within a church or faith-based organization.

- Strong understanding of graphic design principles, branding, marketing, and multimedia production.

- Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro) and content management systems.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work under pressure.

- Ability to think strategically and translate ideas into actionable plans.

- A portfolio of previous creative work demonstrating a high level of creativity, innovation, and attention to detail.

- Knowledge of current trends in church communications, media, and technology is a plus.
