Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead engineering projects, managing all phases from initial planning and design through construction and project completion.

  • Design and Analysis: Develop and review engineering designs, perform technical analyses, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including those set by the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB), Department of Transportation (DOT), New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Parks Department, Department of Planning, and Department of Finance.

  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate all project aspects and ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.

  • Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, and specifications, and maintain accurate project records.

  • Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and verify compliance with design specifications.

  • Sustainability: Integrate sustainable engineering practices into all projects to promote energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.

  • Budget Management: Develop project budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure financial objectives are met.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of New York.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience, with a strong background in managing and delivering successful projects.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in engineering design software and tools; thorough knowledge of engineering principles, building codes, and construction processes.

  • Regulatory Experience: Extensive experience working with NYC DOB, DOT, NYS DEC, NYC DEP, Parks Department, NYC Department of Planning, and NYC Department of Finance.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing project teams and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Creativity: Innovative thinking and the ability to develop unique engineering solutions.
