Job Summary

The Production Manager - Operations is responsible for overseeing Goodwill of Southern Nevada's (GSN) distribution center operations. To provide leadership to the Dock, Receiving, Salvage, Recycling, and Trash processes. This position will lead the Operations department to achieve revenue goals and expense to revenue ratios, and to provide superior customer service in a clean, organized environment. Production Manager - Operations is a role model and leader and must solve problems, make informed decisions, and manage distribution center's workforce and time wisely to achieve maximum results.

Responsibilities

  • • Acts in the capacity of Distribution Center Lead or Clearance Center Manager in their absence.
  • • Completes all related paperwork and reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • • Serves as liaison between the Distribution Center and Retail stores to provide exceptional customer service in meeting the stores' merchandise and supplies requirements.
  • • Maintains and coordinates an effective preventive maintenance program for equipment such as forklifts, balers, compactors, tippers, etc,
  • . Acts as point of contact for daily salvage buyers
  • Manges payments collection, and maintains appropriate paperwork required for daily pick-ups and sales.
  • Conducts continuous improvement audits in assigned department and evaluates current key performance indicators adjusting as necessary.
  • • Works with appropriate Mission Services staff to provide training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, as an integral part of operations.
  • • Maintains an efficient inventory control of seasonal, purchased, and unprocessed goods to include MIN/MAX.
  • • Acts as a coach for Leads and DC team members as a resource for each team member to help inspire their success.
  • • Minimizes overtime expense.
  • • Maintains cleanliness and organization of assigned departments.
  • • Ensures an efficient and effective work force is maintained in all stores through proper hiring, training, and direction.
  • • Champions GSN values,
  • • Ensures subordinate personnel are being identified, trained and developed to the highest standards possible.
  • • Maintains and improves safety standards in assigned departments.
  • • Manages and monitors the effectiveness of the Dock & Receiving operations.
  • • Promotes the development of GSN's vision of growth and efficiency, Assists in any other projects ad determined by management. Ensures compliance with all GSN policies
  • provided in the Team Member Guidebook, Goodwill Industries International and safety standards, and security regulations.

Asset Protection & Safety

  • • Inspects to assure that operations and surrounding premises are kept clean and free of
  • safety hazards and that safety procedures are understood and followed by all staff and store Team Members.
  • • Ensures that operations are reporting and investigating accurately and in a timely manner, all asset protection matters,
  • • Ensures the proper operation of security and safety systems, including but not limited to,
  • door locks, alarms, office door, bank deposits, safe, incident reports, fire extinguishers and cash procedures. To serve as a member of the Safety Committee to contribute information on operational safety issues.

Requirements


  • • Possess BA/BS and/or minimum of 8 years Operations senior level experience managing multiple locations.
  • • Prior profit and loss, sales or cost management accountability required.
  • • Possess a working knowledge of Operations and computer technology,
  • • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and follow-through skills
  • • Exhibits a high level of integrity and business ethics.
  • • 18 years of age or older.

Environmental Factors

Warehouse environment which means working with limited air conditioning or heat.

Physical Factors

Lift/Carry/Push/Pull up to 100 lbs.

Position is generally bending, stooping, crawling, sitting, standing, or walking.
