SGI Global is seeking a talented Business Operations Intern to support our team. This internship seeks to develop students' corporate finance and business management knowledge through hands-on assignments where you'll be challenged to demonstrate business knowledge while working alongside SGI's leaders to maximize our value to our customers. You will collaborate with many of our corporate departments in order to acquire the general skills and knowledge of corporate infrastructure.
The variety of tasking and wide scope of this internship will provide a rich set of real-life experiences resulting in a comprehensive understanding of business operations in executing SGI's mission. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support to develop business processes, capability needs, business requirements, and business information models
- Works with other team members and subject matter experts to resolve questions and solve problems
- Support the various corporate departments in daily administrative tasks
- Work directly alongside industry professionals in real-time
- Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (i.e. social media, e-mail and website updates)
- Generate department-specific reports
- Represent the organization as a Recruiting Assistant
- Assist with research and analysis for Business Development (BD)
- Prepare promotional presentations
- Help coordinate company events/outings
- Manage databases and input information, data, and records
- Research and gather documentation on company position in the industry
- Analyze and diagnose business drivers and variances to budget using various financial systems
- Communicate financial results effectively with powerful visual narratives and story-telling
- Develop financial projections using various methods including historical trends, statistical analysis, and other predictive techniques
- Coordinate activities and information sharing with Business Partners and Leadership
- Prepare and deliver necessary supporting analytics to assist Leadership in decision-making
- Interpret and communicate corporate policy as related to Budgeting Indirects
- Perform Ad hoc analysis for internal and external customers
- Provide administrative support to the Finance organization
- Facilitate development and implementation of Finance special initiatives
- Assist in HR related taskings
- Other duties as assigned
- Assist with mailings, employee anniversaries, and the ordering of gifts, awards, supplies, etc.
- Assist with on-boarding process
- Assist with compiling data reports and HR and/or Marketing presentations
- Assist with auditing HR and/or Marketing files and employment records to ensure compliance
- Assist with other HR and/or Marketing Special projects, as needed
Job Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business, finance, management, computer science, or a related area
- Must be a US citizen
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite knowledge
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to methodically work through complex issues
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to share work and articulate the ideas behind the work
- Ability to be inquisitive, critical thinking, and adaptable in all situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Driven to make an impact in a rapidly growing organization
