Astrotech Space Operations opened its doors in 1981 as an aerospace consulting business. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FINANCE/BUSINESS OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The primary function of this position will be focused on processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions. This position will also obtain approval for payment from applicable company personnel / operating location. Will record and post payments received and process check runs for payment of vendor invoices and other debts owed by the organization. Will verify amounts owed and received and ensure that transactions are recorded promptly and accurately in accordance with internal accounting policies. Will maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable ledger accounts. Will reconcile monthly bank statements and site petty cash accounts and prepare month-end journal entries and year-end vendor 1099's. This position is responsible for preparing and submitting invoices to Astrotech customers for payment and will maintain the database of Certificate of Insurance (COI's) for vendors performing work at Astrotech facilities. Will handle daily accounting and payroll processing activities. This position will also maintain company Document Control Administration, annual internal audits, and company training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FINANCE/BUSINESS OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in AP/AR. Experience with ERP systems (Great Plains preferred, but not required), and MS Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel. Must have a high level of proficiency with MS Office programs, to include Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project. Skills include database management, records management, and reporting procedures. Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills required. Must be detail oriented, customer focused, able to multi-task, and able to exercise sound judgment to solve problems.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
