About the Role
The Tooling Technician will work within the Production and Compression department. This first shift position will provide in person support while complying with cGMP requirements on the manufacturing floor. The Tooling Technician will be responsibility for handling all tooling needs, like part changes, supply chain coordination, inspections, and coordination with necessary vendors.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with cGMP (current good manufacturing procedures) throughout the manufacturing floor
  • Handle compression tooling, like punches or dies tooling, for example, change parts and production accessories as per standard operating procedure. 
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain department in regard to ordering and maintaining compression tools, parts, or required products per machine requirements
  • Coordinate with applicable and established vendors for receiving tooling, cleaning, inspection, issuance, and retrieval of tooling, change parts, products, and/or tools as per standard operating procedure.
  • Coordinate with QA (quality assurance) for issuance of new logbooks and maintaining the logbooks as per procedure.
  • Revise and update the respective standard operating procedure based on the changes recommended by audit or compliance team.
  • Perform periodic inspection of punches and dies as per standard operating procedure.
  • Clean and maintain the tooling and change parts room as per standard operating procedures requirement.
  • Assist in production and/or QA for additional ad hoc daily needs.

Skills
 
  • The ability to complete tasks as directed on standard operating procedures.
  • Familiarity and understanding of standard operating procedures and good manufacturing procedures.
  • Sound communication abilities in the English language with in both written and verbal forms.
  • Ability to communicate cross-functionally and coordinate with different teams within order to meet firm requirements in a timely manner.
  • Ability to manage time and project efforts efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Completed High School Diploma or GED, preferred experience Bachelor’s in Engineering or other applicable field.
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience (compression) or completion of a vocational technology certification program
