Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNondestructive Testing Technician: Roscoe, ILOur customer in Roscoe, Illinois is looking for talented individuals to join their world-class manufacturing family. It’s the Nondestructive Testing Technician responsibility to utilize a variety of technologies to inspect products and materials for structural flaws. This is a highly technical role requiring familiarity with metallurgy, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Nital Etch, data interpretation and imagining analysis.Responsibilities of the Nondestructive Testing Technician:- Review travelers, procedures and specifications for completeness.
- Conduct material tests using a variety of nondestructive methodologies and technologies including but not limited to MPI and Nital Etch.
- Operate the Eurotherm oven and store pertinent data from unit accordingly.
- Accurately identify materials flaws and inclusions, including cracks and burns induced due to process flaws.
- Interpret and analyze test results to assess materials including assessment of visual results generated by the testing equipment as well as translating visual data into actionable information.
- Prepare test reports as certified and issue documentation related to the tests they have performed.
- Able to create procedures and articulate process requirements for the purpose of audit certifications.
- Create and maintain relevant SOP’s in accordance with Standard requirements and as certified to do so.
- Calibrate and maintain equipment by filling out process control checks and following established instructions and procedures, record results as needed.
- Develop product-based processes and procedures as needed.
- Communicate inspection results to customers as needed.
- Create and utilize inspection programs.
- Maintain work area, equipment and all documents/records to be audit-ready at all times.
- Provide inspection support for outside operations.
- Ability to operate all inspection equipment within the quality department.
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience in non-destructive testing.
- Currently or previously certified to NDT Level II in accordance with NAS-410.
- Must have documented hours for training and experience per NAS-410.
- 32 hours classroom training per NAS-410.
- 510 hours logged with Level II sign-off (jobs, hours).
- Ability to use measuring devices including comparators, micrometers, scales and calipers.
- General understanding of gear cutting processes a plus.
- Basic understanding of CMM.
- Ability to use Vinco Optical Dividing Machine.
- Communication skills to train others as needed.
- Basic math & geometry skills.
- Basic materials knowledge.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to create tooth/space alignment layouts.
- Must be able to pass vision-screen.
