Revenue Cycle Supervisor

The Revenue Cycle Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the billing department, ensuring that all aspects of patient accounts, billing, and collections for all FRH entities are handled efficiently and effectively. This position requires a deep understanding of billing regulations, insurance policies, and patient billing practices, particularly in the behavioral health field.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and train billing staff, including Billing Specialists, AR coordinators and other support staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance team efficiency and accuracy.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and insurance regulations, as well as agency contracts and managed care contracts.
Oversee the entire revenue cycle process from post-service delivery documentation, billing, collections, and revenue recognition.
Monitor and analyze billing and collections activities to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement improvements.
Liaise with contracting to ensure compliance with contract terms and pricing.
Work closely with VOB, prior auth, UR and clinical staff to ensure accurate and timely information flow that affects billing and reimbursement.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims to various insurance companies, contracted agencies, government entities, and patients.
Handle complex billing issues and insurance claims, including denials and appeals.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding, billing regulations, and compliance requirements.
Communicate with client agencies regarding billing issues
Prepare and review reports on billing activities, accounts receivable, and other key performance indicators.
Provide strategic insights to management regarding financial performance and opportunities for revenue enhancement.
Oversee patient billing inquiries to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ensure that patients receive clear and accurate billing statements and understand their payment responsibilities.
Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to established procedures and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Stay updated with changes in healthcare regulations, particularly those affecting behavioral health.
High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Health Administration, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Extensive knowledge of medical billing software, electronic health records (EHR), and insurance portals.
Strong understanding of behavioral health billing, including specific issues related to mental health and substance abuse treatment.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage and improve revenue cycle processes.
Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office or other environmentally controlled room. Work may expose incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases, dangerous and volatile situations, or possible bodily injury.
