With 9 distribution centers across the United States and over 500 retail stores, we are committed to delivering exceptional products and experiences to our customers. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented Plastics Engineer to join our team and oversee the production of molds and tubs used in our fireworks products.

Job Summary: The Plastics Engineer will manage the entire plastics production process, from ordering raw materials to shipping finished products. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost management, and new product development. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and business acumen, capable of driving efficiencies, reducing costs, and identifying new revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire plastics production process, including the design, development, and manufacturing of molds and tubs for our fireworks products.
  • Manage the procurement of raw materials, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Supervise the production process to ensure efficiency, quality control, and timely delivery of finished products.
  • Calculate and manage labor costs and cost of goods sold (COGS) to optimize profitability.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop new lines of revenue and identify opportunities for product innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and reduce costs.
  • Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the supply chain.
  • Prepare and manage budgets related to plastics production, providing regular reports on financial performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in plastics engineering or manufacturing, preferably in a consumer goods environment.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic molding processes, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience with cost management, including labor costs and cost of goods sold.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in developing new products or lines of business is a plus.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as CAD, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
