Overview: The Marketing Copywriter is responsible for content development for all channels. Must be able to work on multiple assignments concurrently and deliver content that fits with brand guidelines within short timeframes and compressed schedules in an often changing environment. Work collaboratively with internal and external resources to help initiate, drive, design, and implement a wide range of content across multiple media and distribution channels to support organizational objectives. Ensure marketing content is consistent with brand voice and delivers against company goals with best-in-industry standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate messaging integration consistent with brand strategy across all marketing channels, including advertising, promotion, direct mail, website, social media, digital marketing, email, video, and branch marketing.
  • Write clear, concise, grammatically correct copy consistent with MCU’s brand voice.
  • Create compelling headlines and persuasive long-form copy across all channels, including brochures, white papers, newsletters, advertisements, direct mail, email, website, etc.
  • Write and edit across marketing media, online and offline, and for a range of financial products, services, and offerings.
  • Bring the MCU story to life and create fun yet appropriate messages that align with MCU’s mission, tone, and brand voice.
  • Adapt writing based on marketing channels to ensure maximum engagement.
  • Create both short and long-form copy.
  • Conduct research to develop or support writing and participate in brainstorming/planning sessions.
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed.
  • Use SEO principles to maximize reach across digital and website.
  • Partner with team and outside creative professionals to build marketing projects and campaigns.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ communications experience. Financial services experience preferred but not required.
  • Written, verbal, and digital communications skills.
  • Proficiency with communication technologies and platforms. Salesforce/HubSpot knowledge is a plus.
  • Impeccable copywriting and copy-editing abilities.
  • Versatile writing style. Must be flexible to pivot when needed and comfortable writing in the brand’s voice and tone.
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Superior proofreading and editing skills, with a strong focus on grammar and flow.
  • Experience developing content for social media, web and mobile.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or other related software.
  • Ability to perform in a high-volume environment and meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Technologically proficient.
