We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our team reporting directly to the Vice President, Human Resources and will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support for the Washington, DC office. This includes, but is not limited to basic employee relations, employee on-boarding, training and development, benefits administration, and recruitment support. You will provide needed resources to our internal business teams and support our full employee experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: be an initial resource for staff and people leaders to respond to staff questions and other areas which impact the employee experience
  • On-boarding: oversee the on-boarding process; prepare/update and distribute on-boarding materials; conduct orientation for new employees immersing them in our culture; coordinate new employee training
  • Learning & Development: collaborate with HR team to facilitate innovative and effective learning solutions around on-boarding, benefits, performance management and other areas which build staff capability
  • Benefits Administration: coordinate enrollment, informational materials and correspondence, and record maintenance; conduct staff presentations
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: coordinate HR initiatives to support a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Recruitment: support administrative aspects for DC staff including coordinate interviews; maintain applicant tracking system. Opportunity also to fill entry-level roles.
  • HR Data: Oversee all new hire documentation in coordination with Chicago office.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency, and results orientation
  • Exceptional communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills with a high level of response to all inquiries
  • Strong professional maturity and judgment; Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; Ability to deliver difficult messages
  • High level of proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite—Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
