About this role:

This role is part of a team of specialists that provide family-centered services that support and enable families to meet their child’s individual needs through education, training and support. You will work closely with and learn from a team of specialists who are experts in children’s physical development, cognitive development, communication, social or emotional development, and adaptive development. In addition to on-the-job learning, KDC offers professional development activities and training necessary to maintain relevant certification/licensure in accordance with your professional discipline and EI Operational Standards.

Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm

We are looking for people who: 

  • Bachelors degree, or higher, in one or more of the following fields:
    • Infants and toddlers (includes Early Intervention and early childhood education)
    • Child development or child studies
    • Education or special education
    • Four 3 credit courses focused on child development
  • 300+ hours of experience with children under the age of 5 years old, unless licensed.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
  • Able to meet required competency level in Microsoft Office Software
  • Must have experience working with children birth to 5 years of age and their families in both home and center settings
  • Meet MA Early Intervention Operational Standards in relation to educational and experience requirements. Early Intervention policies | Mass.gov

The physical requirements for this role: 

  • Frequent movement within classroom including but not limited to: kneeling, bending, sitting, lifting, and positioning of students 
  • Operation of adaptive and specialized equipment 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds alone, 51+ pounds with the assistance of another person or adaptive equipment 
  • Ability to physically assist individuals as determined by their needs 
  • Ability to tolerate significant amounts of walking, standing, and sitting 

In this role, you'll get to:

  • Primarily work with families at in-person home visits with the option of telehealth at the family's request.
  • Partner with families to identify each child’s strengths and developmental needs. Together develop an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
  • Work closely with a transdisciplinary team on program planning and delivery of services for families by providing intake, screening, assessments, and ongoing service coordination according to agency and DPH standards.
  • Oversee case management and referral services to assigned caseload, including participation in interagency case conferences
  • Conduct home visits to provide developmental stimulation, parent training, and support
  • Facilitate parent/child and/or child groups to help children thrive within their family and communities
  • Complete reports of assessments, progress reports, IFSPs, and discharge summaries
  • Maintain appropriate communication with physicians, clinics, and community agencies participating in each child’s care
  • Provide information to parents that enable them to make informed decisions for their child's progress
  • This role allows for flexibility in creating your own schedule to visit with families
