Job Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday with mandatory rotation on Saturdays for weekend coverage.

Screening Questions:

  • Are you currently registered through ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS or ACS)?
  • Do you have at least one year of post-graduate experience performing adult cardiac echocardiograms?
  • Have you completed a cardiac sonographer training program approved by our institution?
  • Do you have experience with congenital heart disease patients and/or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) patients?

Basic Level 8967 Sonographer Requirements:

  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Completion of an approved cardiac sonographer training program.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, rotate shifts, and provide weekend and holiday coverage at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
  • Previous experience performing adult cardiac echocardiograms.
  • Must obtain registry through ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCCS, RCS) within four months of hire.

Senior Level 8966 Sonographer Requirements:

  • Minimum of one year of post-graduate experience performing adult cardiac echocardiograms, preferably at UCSF or a similar healthcare setting.
  • Current registry through ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS, RCCS, ACS).
  • Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program from an approved school.
  • Experience in an academic hospital setting.
  • Experience with congenital heart disease patients and/or HCM patients.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in adult congenital, structural heart, heart and lung transplant, and advanced heart failure. Experience with VAD, ECMO, TAVR, Mitra-Clip, and other advanced therapies is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR and Syngo Dynamics systems is preferred.
