Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with a reputable and rapidly growing commercial contractor in Rochester to recruit an Accounts Payable Specialist.

Position Summary:

This is a newly created role due to exponential growth within the organization. The A/P & Purchasing Manager is seeking a self-starting A/P Specialist to be responsible for processing transactions for various locations within the US, developing and maintaining relationships with clients and vendors, reporting, other financial projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing A/P invoices, check requests, and expense reports in a timely manner for multiple locations.
  • Ensuring invoices and expense reports have proper backup and approval to meet SOX compliance.
  • Reviewing all invoices for appropriate documentation along with matching invoices with the correct purchase orders.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and vendors by providing timely responses to inquiries and questions.
  • Resolving outstanding invoices and payment inquiries.
  • Reviewing monthly vendor statements ensuring payments are current.
  • Fielding questions from vendors, branch leaders, and working closely with purchasing agents on questions regarding purchase orders and invoice discrepancies.
  • Assisting with mailing all payable checks weekly per the current payment schedule, as needed.
  • Other administrative duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associates degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; BS preferred.
  • 2-4 years of accounts payable experience.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of accounts payable and best practices.
  • Self-starting, ability to work independently, and on a team.
  • Detail-oriented, strong time management, organizational, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
