Job Summary: As a Revenue Cycle Management Specialist with Coding experience, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our revenue cycle process. Your primary mission is to tackle claims on hold, many of which are on hold for coding reasons, guarantee precise coding for MRI and Surgery claims, and provide crucial support to our healthcare finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Resolution: Champion the review and resolution of claims on hold due to coding issues, ensuring accurate assignment of diagnosis and procedure codes.
  • Medical Coding: Expertly code MRI and Surgery claims in strict compliance with coding guidelines, including ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits to validate coding accuracy and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Documentation Review: Collaborate with healthcare providers to confirm clinical documentation supports accurate coding.
  • Compliance: Stay ahead of coding regulations, billing guidelines, and compliance requirements to ensure unwavering adherence.
  • Revenue Optimization: Unearth opportunities to boost revenue and reduce claim denials through spot-on coding and claims resolution.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze coding-related data to spot trends, identify areas for improvement, and offer process enhancement recommendations.
  • Team Collaboration: Team up closely with the revenue cycle management team, billing department, and clinical staff to streamline claims processing.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification: Hold a current CPC certification through AAPC or equivalent certification.
  • Medical Coding Expertise: Showcase your mastery of medical coding, with a strong grasp of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
  • Healthcare Experience: Bring 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within a healthcare organization, with a focus on coding and revenue cycle management.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology: Demonstrate your proficiency in medical terminology and an understanding of clinical documentation requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Flex your strong analytical and problem-solving skills to pinpoint coding issues and efficiently resolve claims.
  • Compliance Awareness: Display a thorough knowledge of healthcare compliance regulations and an unwavering commitment to maintaining compliance in all coding activities.
  • Communication Skills: Communicate with excellence, collaborating effectively with clinical staff, physicians, and patients.
