Principle Responsibilities● Repair and inspect Mountain/BMX bike fleet for program utilization
● Imparts useful bike care and maintenance knowledge
● Order materials needed to keep program running safely
● Monitor inventory of spare parts and repair equipment
● Maintain an inspected, safe, clean, neat, organized repair shop/area
● Insure proper use, security and care of repair parts and repair equipment
● Assist in the set up and takedown of the SBR mountain bike shop and other facilities
● Other duties or projects as assigned by SBR leadership
● Abide by policies and procedure outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications & Training● 18 years of age or older
● Required: entry level bike mechanic certification or bike shop mechanic experience
● Preferred: Experience maintaining / operating an organized shop
● Good organizational and communication skills
● Ability to use Microsoft Teams daily for work related communication and coordination
● Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America
Performance Results● Completes contract period with 2-4 positive experiences
● Receive one or more Staff Appreciation Cards from staff or participants
● Contribute at least one improvement to Bike Mechanic operations or Biking program
● Provide at least one memorable moment that matters to a participant
Physical Requirements● Up to 8 hours a day of either standing, walking, hiking, and the ability to lift 70 lbs.
