POSITION PURPOSE:


The Turndown Attendant will be responsible for cleaning, stocking and providing turn-down service for guest rooms/suites to ensure cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Responsible for overall cleanliness of assigned rooms/suites. Reports maintenance deficiencies in order to maintain rooms/suites in compliance with Five Star service standards.

75% Provides Turndown service to rooms/suites, according to Five Star standards: This includes: Turning down beds, refreshing supplies/amenities, touching up bathroom cleanliness, emptying trash, leaving turndown treat, refreshing ice. Reports maintenance deficiencies in order to maintain room in compliance with standards.


10% Restocks all linens and amenities on room attendant carts.


10% Pleasantly interacts with all guests.


SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.


  • Assist co-workers, as requested by manager.

  • Provide customer service to guests, including information about hotel services, activities and local attractions.

  • Restock amenities and chemical caddies.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when performing work duties that may have the potential of risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE. Associates will be trained in the proper use and care of any assigned PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled.

  • Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as: vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles.

  • Ability to read and recognize room/suite numbers.

  • Ability to learn, follow and practice standards for cleanliness.

  • Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly in English with guests and staff as necessary to effectively work within the department.

  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to move throughout, building, bend, stop and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.



QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION

High School graduate or equivalent preferred but not necessary.


EXPERIENCE

6 months to 1 year cleaning experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred.


LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

No special licenses or certificates required.


GROOMING

All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you as a part of the orientation process.


OTHER

Additional language ability is strongly preferred.
