Chief Member Experience Officer – Your Key Objectives:

  • Team leadership – Ensure everyone is aligned to the organization mission and delivering an excellent member customer experience
  • Grow revenue – Revenue expansion through Membership and Sponsorship
  • Cultivate member experience – Ensure that Section member leader relationships are consistently maintained and enhanced, bringing innovations to the customer experience

Chief Member Experience Officer - Your Job Duties:

In order to carry out your mission, you will work across multiple departments to:

  • Lead, manage, mentor and motivate up to 20 staff members including ongoing oversight, professional development, hiring and performance management (10 legal education staff, 3 member services staff, 3 marketing and sponsorship staff and 1 events planning staff)
  • Analyze existing membership information and bring strategies that will improve membership experience and growth
  • Develop and maintain the annual department budgets (4 departments) including analysis of budget to actual and oversight for potential cost savings
  • Plan, develop and execute the organization's marketing and sponsorship programs to grow sponsorship
  • Identify potential improvements and innovations to enhance existing services
  • Oversee the marketing and communications plan
  • Oversee events and programming team and activities including logistics and event planning, approach to conferences, summits, retreats and other member benefit activities
  • Meet with each Section (volunteer leadership) at least annually to obtain feedback on what is effective and identify areas for improvement and innovations
  • Enhance and manage mandatory continuing legal education (MCLE) education and programming

Chief Member Experience Officer – Required Experience, Qualifications:

You Are:

  • Someone who enjoys leading, mentoring and motivating a team and has a track record as an experienced team leader
  • A bringer of ideas – you identify opportunities for expansion and improvement
  • Excellent at cultivating lasting relationships through communication, building trust and delivering top-tier customer experiences
  • Comfortable creating and managing department budgets including budget and KPI analysis
  • Proficient in MS Office suite,
  • Knowledgeable with CRM platforms (ie: Hubspot) and/or Association Management Systems
  • A college graduate with a 4 year degree in business or related field

Chief Member Experience Officer – You Might Have (Desired Past Experience, Not Required)

  • Experience working in a marketing or communications department
  • Experience working with law firms and/or lawyers and/or attorneys
  • Experience with online education products and offerings
  • Experience working in a membership based professional organization or association
  • Experience managing multiple departments
  • A Masters' degree in business administration, management or marketing or related field

Compensation target $175,000 per year.

You will be provided with comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance (most plan options are 100% covered for you and your dependents) supplemental disability insurance, life insurance, 401k with company match, paid time off and 18 paid holidays.

In addition, parking for in office days is paid for by the company for you.

You will work hybrid in both the Sacramento office and remotely. You may travel to meetings throughout the state as needed for events and meetings.
