About this position

This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting the ongoing implementation of Options for Learning’s Data, Evaluation and Impact Department.?This department collects, segments, analyzes, and reports on all programmatic data for the organization. Information is analyzed across a broad spectrum, from child and family level to the overall organization, and may incorporate data sets from Finance, Human Resources, and other departments. The Data, Evaluation, and Impact team is charged with uncovering research and data available on best practices and innovative, efficient ways to enhance the agency’s programs and engage its clients and staff. This team reports data to the organization’s various stakeholders and funding sources.

The successful candidate will have expert knowledge of data collection and management practices and may have strong or emerging knowledge in data evaluation, visualization, and predictive analysis. He or she will provide technical assistance to inform data-driven decision-making. The candidate will communicate effectively, work independently and collaboratively within a team, and flourish in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who is a resourceful, creative, analytical, strategic thinker with an upbeat, positive attitude and is eager to support the organization's mission and achieve its strategic goals.


What you’ll be doing

  • Managing innovative data, evaluation, and impact projects, including scope definition, risk identification, qualitative and quantitative analysis, schedules, regular updates, outcomes, measurements, and communication;
  • Leading the coordination of data collection and management, including data compilation from the community, partners, and other external sources;
  • Collaborating and partnering with department leaders and managers to ensure that proper understanding of regulatory data requirements, activities, and continuous improvement plans are aligned with Options for Learning's strategic goals and ensuring proper execution of ongoing data collection;
  • Maintaining current knowledge of county, state, and federal program regulations and all other applicable regulations to ensure compliance;
  • Supervising data collection and analysis efforts for program improvement, outcomes, and grant reporting purposes;
  • Maintaining databases and other required documentation to measure quality performance and track improvement;
  • Maintaining quality oversight to ensure that the information is accurate and timely;
  • Identifying discrepancies in data and informing appropriate departments;
  • Developing and conducting daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reporting for organizational outcome metrics;
  • Distributing reports to appropriate audiences;
  • Working collaboratively with all departments to source, collect, and analyze data to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement;
  • Attending trainings as required;
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent coursework in statistics, data science, data management, social science, or related field;
  • Minimum of two years of database management, data analysis, and relational data systems experience;
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365;
  • Ability to perform descriptive analysis and utilize proper inquiry (preferably SQL) regarding various data sets and groups;
  • Ability to use data visualization tools, such as Tableau and PowerBI;
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data using established methods to help solve complex problems;
  • Experience with child care, education, or social services data, including external data sources (preferred);
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin (preferred).

Job specifications
