Responsibilities:

  1. Security Monitoring: Assist in monitoring security systems and tools to detect and respond to security incidents, anomalies, and threats. Monitor security event logs, alerts, and notifications to identify potential security incidents.

  2. Incident Response: Support the incident response process by assisting in the investigation, analysis, and resolution of security incidents. Work with senior team members to contain and mitigate security incidents in a timely manner.

  3. Vulnerability Management: Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and scans to identify security vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications. Help prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities based on risk and criticality.

  4. Security Tool Administration: Assist in the administration and maintenance of security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus/endpoint protection solutions, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.

  5. Security Awareness Training: Participate in security awareness and training programs to educate employees about cybersecurity best practices, policies, and procedures. Help promote a culture of security awareness and vigilance across the organization.

  6. Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. Prepare reports and documentation related to security incidents, vulnerabilities, and risk assessments.

  7. Compliance and Risk Management: Support compliance efforts by assisting in the implementation and enforcement of security controls, standards, and frameworks. Help conduct risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  8. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and compliance to support their cybersecurity needs and requirements. Provide technical support and assistance for security-related projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.

  2. Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) are desirable but not required.

  3. Technical Skills:

    • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and technologies.
    • Familiarity with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, SIEM, etc.
    • Basic knowledge of networking protocols, operating systems, and applications.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  4. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze security incidents and vulnerabilities and propose effective solutions.

  5. Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

  6. Team Player: Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work well in a team environment.
