IT Support Specialist Job Duties Include:

  • Provide technical support to staff and residents on a daily basis
  • Troubleshoot computer and system issues and resolve computer-related problems in a timely manner.
  • Maintain records of billable time for residents.
  • Independently schedule appointments with staff and residents; monitor and follow-up as needed.
  • Monitor wireless network system
  • Set up accounts and software for staff and residents, configure equipment, perform preventative maintenance on systems.
  • Maintain file and database access roles.
  • Proactively address technical issues as they arise.
  • Perform tests and evaluations on new software and hardware as assigned.
  • Provide a secure network environment.
  • Monitor for indications of security breaches and electronic vandalism; maintain anti-virus software updates
  • Serve as a resource for computer systems users; determine system needs and make recommendations.
  • Install hardware or software or modify existing system for staff and resident as assigned by Director of IT.
  • Train staff and resident users on system hardware, software, applications and authentication devices.
  • Manage and maintain user support documentation for software utilized by the department.
  • Maintain internal phone systems; provide support for eligible personal cell phones and ensure security.
  • Maintain inventory of all components and subassemblies for new computer systems
  • Prepare order list; keep maintenance records and documentation.
  • Oversee and provide technical support for audio-visual needs of the community, including auditorium operations and all other rooms with audio-visual capacity as needed.
  • Complete IT projects, as assigned by the Director of IT.
  • Keep up to date with technology and industry developments through research, self-paced learning, and formal training options.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance in order to serve the daily technical support needs of the community.

**This position requires flexibility to work an adjusted schedule which includes some evenings and weekends, as needed for events such as memorial services, board of trustee meetings, resident events, etc.**

Requirements:

Education: Equivalent to an associate’s degree in information science, Computer Technology or related field. Demonstrated knowledge of computer networking software, interface protocols, query/programming languages and various software applications.

Experience: A minimum of one year of related experience required or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and training may be considered.

Computer Skills: 2+ years in computer networks and systems, maintenance preferred.

Experience building, upgrading, and modifying computer hardware preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, iOS, Android

A+, Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation advantageous.

Proficient in operating system troubleshooting and software installation required

Training: Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Apple ASCP, Microsoft MTA, and AV, preferred. If candidate does not possess certifications such as those listed above, must be willing to pursue certifications in one or more of these subject areas. Ongoing training is required as necessary to keep skills and position-specific knowledge current.

Other Skills: Good interpersonal skills; ability to professionally and effectively interact with residents and staff and provide excellent customer service. Good skills in problem-solving, organization and time management. Attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
