Rate: $23 hourly

Location: O'Brien Community Center, 32 Mallets Bay Ave., Winooski, VT

Schedule: Primarily evenings and weekends. Some weekday hours may be required. Part-time up to 29 hours per week.

The Event Coordinator will serve as the point of contact for events at the O’Brien Community Center, promoting an inclusive, safe environment for visitors.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with event hosts to provide pre-event tours, review space rules and requirements, and provide building and event space access on the day of scheduled events

  • Be present on site for the duration of all events to ensure events run smoothly and that visitors and guests maintain compliance with rules and regulations during and after events

  • Ensure property is secured following events

  • Coordinate with property management, communicating any issues in a timely and professional manner

  • Communicate and coordinate with event scheduler(s) as applicable

  • Other duties as required

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience working with people from a wide variety of cultures and backgrounds and an unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, and excellent service with a focus on cultural awareness and sensitivity are essential

  • Experience working in hospitality, retail, events, catering or other customer service setting is strongly preferred

  • English fluency is required, multi-language fluency is a strong plus

  • Must exhibit a positive attitude, professionalism, and utmost respect

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, self-motivation, decision-making, and people skills are a must

  • Must have a strong ability to diffuse conflict, anticipate needs, and remain calm in high pressure situations

  • Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment, read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals

  • Basic technology and computer skills are required

  • Reliable transportation is required

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check Required
