FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary

The Food and Beverage Manager ensures the efficient and smooth operation of food and beverage venues at Greenville Country Club. This hands-on role is pivotal in delivering exceptional member experiences through effective management and coordination of dining services.

Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:

Trust and Teamwork

  • Staff Coordination: Design floor plans, organize staffing, and assist with hiring, training, and retention of dining room staff.
  • Team Leadership: Lead staff through various service types (banquet, a la carte etc.) and perform pre-shift line-ups to inform the FOH team of shift details.
  • Post-Shift Management: Complete post-shift reports, analyze server POS tickets, and confirm time and attendance for dining room employees.

Effective Communication

  • Member Interaction: Clearly communicate dining options to members, greet and seat members and guests, and resolve complaints regarding food and/or service.
  • Liaison Duties: Serve as a liaison between dining room and culinary team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Policy Coaching: Coach staff on club policies and ensure proper documentation as needed.
  • POS System Training: Train staff on all aspects of the POS system.

Innovation

  • Operational Efficiency: Plan dining room set-ups based on anticipated needs and guest counts.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of service utensils, equipment, china, glass, and silver, and ensure they are properly stored and accounted for.
  • Report Generation: Understand and produce necessary daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Collaborates with peers to assess, meet and exceed KPIs and create SOPs.

Balance and Appreciation

  • Cleanliness and Organization: Ensure FOH employees maintain cleanliness and uniform appearance and assure dining and service areas remain clean and organized throughout the meal period.
  • Staff Scheduling: Monitor and adjust dining room staffing to balance member satisfaction and fiscal responsibility and assist with staff scheduling.
  • Security: Ensure the dining room and other areas of the club are secure at the end of the shift.
  • Inventory and Ordering: Assist with liquor, beer, and wine inventory and ordering.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will accept equivalent years of relevant work experience;
  • 3-5 years of Food and Beverage experience;
  • Minimum of one (1) of management experience, preferred;
  • 1-2 years of Food & Beverage supervisory experience;
  • Private club experience highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be highly visible and maintain high level of member contact in all service areas
  • Follows all food & beverage health safety guidelines and alcohol service protocols
  • ServSafe certified (or the willingness to become certified)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
  • Must be able to move about the dining room to service guests
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional pushing and pulling of items up to 50 lbs.
