Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Laboratory Technologist with at least one year of experience to join our dynamic laboratory team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical laboratory procedures and the ability to operate sophisticated laboratory equipment. This role is crucial in providing accurate and timely test results that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunohematology, and molecular diagnostics.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze test results, interpret data, and report findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Follow established laboratory protocols and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collect and prepare biological specimens for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and handling.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of laboratory tests and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and methodologies.
- Collaborate with other laboratory personnel and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Engage in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with advancements in the field.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) by a recognized accrediting agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in the use of laboratory information systems (LIS) and standard office software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity to handle small instruments and delicate specimens.
- Ability to lift and move laboratory equipment and supplies.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, with the possibility of rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
