SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Program Director, Prevention and Education Specialist/Outreach and Education Specialist will provide tribal community outreach, partnership and collaborations with tribal, local, state, and federal partners, public relations; press releases, social media, facilitation of education activities, program presentations, and at times provide victim advocacy. Community outreach events and community engagement in activities will also be required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS including but not limited to:

  • Manage and monitor social media platforms;
  • Create engaging social media content;
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on a variety of topics;
  • Attend a variety of different trainings, committees, and conferences;
  • Complete project deadlines:
  • Stay up to date on research-based sexual violence, domestic violence, and other crimes.
  • Track and manage data for grant reporting;
  • Interact with followers by communicating and answering questions through the program's social media page;
  • Build and strengthen partnerships/relationships with tribes, local and state agencies:
  • Create tribal activities and collaborate with tribal programs:
  • Distribute and track all outreach activities within agency;
  • Post flyers for outreach events on all social media platforms:
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings, provide feedback and information;
  • Review and monitor advocate client services spending.
  • Back up advocacy services;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a valid Nevada Driver's License and reliable transportation:
  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor's degree in related field. and experience or course work in marketing/social

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Experience and/or course work in social media/outreach.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • In-depth working knowledge of victim advocacy
  • Cultural Competence and empathy
  • Crisis Intervention knowledge
  • Problem solving, analyzing, and multi-tasking
  • Experience in administration
  • Excellent attention to detail and high motivation
  • An ability to prioritize work and complete tasks with quick turnaround
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team.
